About the Canadian Gauges project:

Analog-style readouts, gauges and other visual aids are much more appealing, but also easier to read at a glance than their digital counterparts. I have owned a Garmin Fenix watch for a number of years. I found the options out there lacking a little in what I was looking for in functionality.  I have written a number of premium apps for that reason. These apps will be added here and on the Garmin app store as they come out of beta testing so check back periodically.

My goal with this project is to create a number of visually appealing, easy to read, easy to use apps (and other utilities such as watch faces). These “gauges” are mainly designed in keeping with analog readouts, and in some cases are designed to match up with their real-world counterparts, such as with my Altimeter Watch Face app, which closely mimics an altimeter found in an aircraft.

My target area for the moment is the Garmin activity tracker. And yes, I’m Canadian, hence the name. You might notice a small “CANADA” mark at the bottom of my apps.

You can try all my premium apps before you buy them. Simply download them from the store! They will lock out after a set period of use in trial mode. For full functionality you can purchase a licence through this website and my “fat-free cart” using PayPal. Licences will never expire and will carry over to any updates made to my apps. In some cases you might need to re-enter a key in the following situations:

  1. An app update with major changes (in which case I aim to notify you with a new key via email)
  2. Device factory reset
  3. App completely uninstalled from your device
  4. Installing on a new device

In any of these situations above, you may contact me if you are having any issues (see contact page).

I am trying my best to keep my apps compatible with older devices (e.g. Fenix 3) and hope to do so as much as possible. Please be patient with some of the apps – the Garmin development environment has a number of quirks and one of them is that very similar watches display things rather differently, it takes lots of time to edit and make an app look similar on different devices. If you notice a problem please do let me know and I will work to fix it.
